One CPD badge, no accrediting body named on the site
Blockchain Council sells online certifications in blockchain, cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence, in self-paced and live formats. Its terms and conditions state that the brand is wholly owned and operationally controlled by Tosh Innovations Private Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of India, and that disputes fall under Indian law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Delhi. The contact address printed in the footer is in Claymont, Delaware. Programme names carrying the registered symbol are, by its own admission, registered in India only, with applications underway in other jurisdictions.
Accreditation is the first thing any buyer of a certificate should check, and here the trail runs short. Across the pages reviewed, the phrase CPD Accredited appears exactly once, as a badge on the front page. Nothing beside it names an awarding body, and no provider reference number is given anywhere. A link labelled Accreditation sits in the site menu but was not among the eight pages examined. On both its front page and its about page it calls itself a "private de-facto organization", according to its website, checked on 8 August 2026.
The contract is franker than the marketing. Under its certification terms the company states that credentials are granted at its sole discretion, and that they do not constitute a professional licence, an academic degree or a government-recognised credential unless explicitly stated. Individual course pages, by contrast, promise a verifiable certificate recognised by employers worldwide. Direct damages are capped at 100 US dollars in aggregate.
Each course carries its own price. The crypto and blockchain security programmes are listed at 399 US dollars, cybersecurity at 249 and AI security at 299, each price sitting beside an EMI Option Available note. Access period and certification validity are both given as lifetime, so no renewal fee appears. Discounting looks permanent rather than seasonal: a 25 per cent banner code, half price on live training, and 30 and 50 per cent off for paying members, who are also offered a bundle the site values at 399 dollars. What a membership itself costs was not shown on the pages examined.
The counters do not agree with one another. The front page claims more than a million learners, 145 or more countries and 500 or more certifications; the about page, on the same day, claims 2,500 members, 90 or more countries and 60 or more certifications. One programme page shows 17,000 reviews against 5,000 or more enrolments. Ratings of 4.8 appear on course pages and a Trustpilot figure of 4.5 on the homepage. Every course lists an online exam, but the FAQ entry on retaking it was collapsed, so no pass mark, attempt limit or resit fee was visible.
