Crypto Tax Calculator, renamed — same Sydney company, same caveat
Summ is the crypto tax platform formerly known as Crypto Tax Calculator — a rebrand its own site documents on every page ("New name. New look. Formerly Crypto Tax Calculator"). The legal entity keeps the old initials: CTC Ledger Pty Ltd (ACN 655 951 812), founded in Sydney in 2018 by brothers Shane and Tim Brunette. Checked 2026-08-21.
The product imports transactions read-only from exchanges and wallets, tracks the portfolio and generates "accountant-endorsed" tax reports with country-specific rules for 26 countries. Its signature feature is "Least Tax First Out", an algorithm that disposes of the highest-cost-basis lots first to minimise the taxable gain.
US pricing runs by transaction count: $49 (100), $99 (1,000), $249 (10,000) and $499 (100,000) per year, with a free read-only start and prices varying by country. The pitch — "audit-proof tax reports", "pay the least tax possible" — reads confident; the terms are humbler: "we are not qualified accountants, tax specialists, or financial advisors", and they strongly recommend professional advice before acting.
That gap is normal for the category, and Summ handles it more honestly than most: the reports are as defensible as your imported data and your accountant's review. As tooling for that job, it is among the most established options an Anglo user can pick.
