SwissBorg calls itself "Europe's #1 app for buying and selling crypto safely": an exchange aggregator whose Smart Engine routes orders across 12 venues for best price, plus Earn yields, thematic crypto bundles, a Mastercard and the BORG loyalty token. It claims 918.9K verified users and $1.2B in user assets. Checked 2026-08-21.

The nationality is more nuanced than the name: the app belongs to SBorg SA of Lausanne, but EEA, Swiss and UK users contract with BlockNodes SAS — a French company holding MiCA licence A2026-011 from the AMF, covering custody, execution, advice and portfolio management. Everyone else contracts with Dharma Ltd of the Seychelles, an entity with no claimed licence that appears only in the terms. No FCA registration exists, and its UK-only risk page says it straight: the FSCS doesn't protect this, and the Financial Ombudsman "will not be able to consider complaints related to this firm".

Fees are published and layered: exchange fees from 1.49% down to 0.25% by loyalty tier, 0.10% fiat and crypto withdrawal fees, card deposits from 1.5% to 4.5% — and, disclosed in the pricing policy, a "real-time market-liquidity adjustment" built into displayed prices, part of which BlockNodes may retain. A spread by another name, at least documented.

Its homepage numbers wobble in places — "11 currencies" in the hero versus "16" in the FAQ, two different pair counts — and the USA is excluded entirely. The MiCA licence is real and specific; the protections it buys are European, not British.
